Slovakia has a long history with the Czech Republic. Until today both countries work close together and are therefore similar in terms of behavior, especially when it comes to online shopping and its growth. For example, people in Slovakia also like to shop on their smartphones (65% of all transactions in online retail), which speaks for a young e-commerce users. As in the Czech Republic, the market is dominated by a few companies. Alza.sk – the offshoot of the Czech group Alza – accounts for 35% of total sales.
