Czech economy

Did you know that..

The Czech Republic has one of the strongest economies in Eastern Europe. Czechs prefer to have their products sent to a pick-up station rather than having them delivered to their homes. In addition, about 15% of the population prefers the local search engine Seznam.cz over Google.

Czechs like to do their shopping on their smartphones (54% of all online retail transactions). The biggest players on the Czech e-commerce market are all Czech companies (alza, cz, rohlik.cz and mall.cz). Czechs very rarely shop on foreign sites. Nevertheless, online expansion is also quite possible here, as shown by the example of the German supermarket chain Lidl, which is now the fifth largest e-commerce company in the Czech Republic with its own online store (lidl-shop.cz).
